The Marigold Mile

This is a City Beautification Project that is seen by thousands of people every year walking and driving South Oneida Street from the Oneida Skyline Bridge to Calumet Street and a few other locations around Appleton. It was started by Fox Valley Nursery in the late 1980's with a planting of marigolds in front of their business. Soon other businesses such as Manor Care, Kinder Care, and St. Elizabeth's Hospital wanted the flowers planted along their boulevards.

John Law and the South Appleton Area Business Association supported it from the 1990's until 2007 and planted Inca Marigolds in front of all the houses and businesses in this area. Mike Turner became a Master Gardener in 2008 and took over as Volunteer Coordinator. If you are interested in donating your time and resources to The Marigold Mile, please contact Fox Valley Nursery.
