WILD Center

The native plant gardens at the WILD Center (Wild Ones Institute for Learning and Development), the National Headquarters for Wild Ones*, is now a permanent project of OCMGA.

The Wild Center was alive with volunteer activity on April 2, the first "First Thursday" of 2015.  The WILD Center (Wild Ones Institute for Learning and Development) is the Wild Ones national headquarters and is located on West Butte Des Morts Beach Road near Strobe Island, just south of Appleton.  The facility is staffed 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, but the grounds are always open to the public. Master Gardener Rich Fischer: "I spotted pelicans and sandhill cranes on Thursday; in the past I have seen many creatures like deer, hawks, eagles, owls, bats and turtles. Being close to the Little Lake Butte des Morts marsh and the Guckenberg-Sturm Preserve, the site is very attractive to wildlife."
